Skip Healy, Irish flute virtuoso, fife maniac, and suberb instrument builder, will be opening this season's Mattunes House Concerts. In true Irish style, he tells a raucus tale as well as being a "wicked good" traditional musician. As a special treat, he will give us a demo of his flute building. You'll leave laughing, humming and maybe even with one of his Grammy nominated CDs in your pocket.

Glenn Pryor

Glenn Pryor performs traditional Irish and Scottish music as well as traditional music from a number of ethnic groups and historic periods. He serves as the official Bagpiper for Yale Medical School and Yale Commencement, and has played for conductor Erich Kunzel, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and the championship Ogilvy Highlanders pipe band. At our concert he will play a concert using Scottish small pipes and Highland pipes.

Larry Picard and Maggie Tucker play solo piano, two pianos/ four hands and maybe even pump organ with "Music for a Victorian Home". You will be our guests at two Victorian homes where you will view the work of two different visual artists, Cynthia Picard and Gina Beavers.

John Tavano

John Tavano is a Classical Guitarist experienced in many styles of performing techniques including repertoire from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Spanish Flamenco, and the styles of Latin America. John has twenty five years of experience performing concerts; he also teaches classical guitar and composes. He will be playing music of Latin America and Spain.

Russian Duo
concert postponed to 2008-2009 season
This husband and wife team features Tamara Volskaya on domra (a traditional lute or mandolin type instrument) and Anatoliy Trofimov on bayan (a complex instrument in the accordion family). They have toured throughout the world and performed at Carnegie Hall and on NPR.

Meg Irwin-Brandon

Meg Irwin-Brandon is an organist, harpsichordist, conductor of early music ensembles, teacher, musicologist, church music director, and founder of Arcadia Players. She specializes in early keyboard instruments and has performed Bach's Well Tempered Clavier in New York’s Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She will be performing J.S.Bach's Goldberg Variations on the harpsichord.
